Head Teacher Message

HTWelcome to Moorfoot Primary School, Nursery Class and Garvel Deaf Centre. We hope that the content of our handbook (which is published on the home page) and details on this website, will explain many aspects of life in our school. If you have any questions, however, please feel free to contact us to discuss them.

Session 2017/2018 is a very exciting time for our school community. We are currently based in the old Sacred Heart Primary School while our building is undergoing a £5 million refurbishment which will provide us with the highest quality learning environment, fit for purpose in a 21st century school. Bright airy classroom space will be enhanced by the creation of large and flexible learning areas outside classrooms. Externally, the entrance plaza, senior playground / dining terrace and secure nursery playground will be some of the striking features of the transformation.

Mrs Irvine and some of our 100 Club members

At Moorfoot Primary School, Nursery Class and Garvel Deaf Centre, all staff work together to create a safe community where pupils have a sense of value and belonging. All members of staff are committed to developing all pupils as successful learners, responsible citizens, confident individuals and effective contributors. Classrooms provide stimulating learning environments which motivate pupils to achieve their full potential.

We endeavour to equip our pupils with the skills and attributes which will enable them to lead fulfilling and healthy lives in the 21st Century, with the capacity to make the best life choices and decisions. Every child at our school is special. All children are encouraged to develop positive attitudes towards learning and show care and respect for themselves and other people. We aim to "get it right for EVERY child" in our care.
